FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CAI Networks doubles WebMux IP load balancer's SSL Acceleration
performance, introduces three new models
New WebMux models fast enough to replace SSL Accelerators
Santa Ana, CA, May 12, 2005
CAI Networks™ has announced
performance improvements of better than 100% in the SSL Termination capability
of its WebMux IP load balancer network appliance. This performance boost
accelerates WebMux's performance from 120 to 2,000 SSL transactions-per-second
for its high-end model.
WebMux's SSL acceleration capability permits SSL-encrypted IP transactions
to be load balanced along with unencrypted transactions, thereby improving
overall web-based performance and availability.
Many network configurations use dedicated SSL acceleration hardware to
compensate for the inherently slower speed of SSL transactions, a practice
that CAI Networks claims is now unnecessary in most environments by using
WebMux IP load-balancing appliances offering SSL termination speeds comparable
to dedicated SSL accelerators. CAI Networks claims the performance of SSL
termination in its new WebMux's models is comparable to dedicated SSL
acceleration appliances.
CAI Networks is introducing three new WebMux models offering SSL acceleration
performance of 120, 200, and 2,000 1024 bit RSA TPS. All three units offer
WebMux's market-leading IP load balancing, failover, high-availability,
and firewall capabilities.
Prices start at $3,995 and include a three-year warranty and three years
of technical support, continuing WebMux's tradition of offering the
industry's lowest total cost of ownership.
Existing WebMux customers can trade up to these latest models for a nominal cost.
Pricing and Availability
WebMux models 480, 560SG, and 680PG are available from CAI Networks
(www.cainetworks.com) and its resellers. U.S. list prices for the
three models are $3,999, $5,999, and $12,900 respectively.
