Santa Ana, CA, September 15, 2008 - CAI Networks has announced a new version firmware for its
WebMuxTM server load balancing appliance which provides support for networks that use multiple
ISP uplinks, as well as those with multiple VLANs.
WebMux′s multihoming support provides fault tolerance for sites that have more than one ISP,
or more than one uplink from one or more ISPs, thereby extending WebMux′s high availability capabilities
to provide uninterrupted network access in the event that an upstream link or an ISP fails.
WebMux′s multiple VLAN support permits a single WebMux to provide high availability and peak performance
for servers on different VLANs by extending the reach of its load balancing and failover capabilities.
WebMux′s multiple VLAN support provides isolation between VLANs and simultaneous load balancing
between different VLAN groups. For large organizations with multiple departments, hosting companies,
or external customers, WebMux′s multiple VLAN support provides security and convenience in managing these complex networks.
WebMux′s multihoming and VLAN support are fully operational with WebMux′s Layer 2 through 7 load
balancing and failover capabilities, including HTTP compression, SSL/TLS acceleration, and DDoS attack
protection. WebMux′s multihoming support is interoperational with CAI Networks′ DnsMux
appliance, which provides failover protection and high availability for global and other sites with multiple hosting.
WebMux′s new features are currently shipping in new units and are available via a no-cost firmware
upgrade to version 8.5.00 for customers under CAI Networks′ bundled 3-year warranty and extended service plans.
