WebMux doubles its capacity in OOP mode with new firmware

Supports both IPV4 and IPV6 network load balancing

Santa Ana, CA, June 5, 2007 CAI Networks™ announces the new firmware for its WebMux™ load balancer/traffic management appliance. New firmware 8.2.07 release for WebMux 481S, 591SG, and 680P models.

In this new firmware, WebMux supports IEEE 802.3ad protocol to gain bigger bandwidth handling capabilities. IEEE 802.3ad protocol is also called network teaming protocol, that allowing more than one interface to gang together for handling larger capacity. Originally designed for 680P model WebMux, WebMux firmware with teaming support has been providing UUNET picture downloading services for tens thousands concurrent visitors.

In this version of firmware, the teaming protocol is also extended to 481S and 591SG models. In the OOP mode, WebMux will be able to use both WAN and LAN interfaces together to handle larger amount traffic. With IEEE 802.3ad capable network switches, user can dynamically adding another network cable to increase the bandwidth without any software change.

This version firmware also incorporated the latest OpenSSL security fix, as well as SSH enhancement for the diagnose port. All WebMux shipped now will have this new firmware loaded.
