CAI Networks′ WebMux Load Balancer Certified for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007

Santa Ana, CA, October 16, 2007 - CAI Networks, Inc. announces the successful testing and support of its WebMux server load balancer and traffic management network appliance with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. Microsoft Corp. uses WebMux in its internal test environment for unified communications and performed the compatibility and acceptance testing at its Redmond campus.

Office Communications Server 2007 incorporates hardware-based load balancing as a required component of its scalable and fault-tolerant high availability configurations. WebMux is CAI Networks′ flagship hardware-based load balancer and traffic management network appliance and a certified component of the Office Communications Server 2007 solution.

"We are of course delighted to be a part of Microsoft′s impressive new offering," said Tom C. Liu, President of CAI Networks. "Office Communications Server 2007 is an achievement in unified communications, and brings a lot of our products′ functionality to bear in achieving performance, scalability, and reliability. Our relationship with Microsoft has produced a winning product synergy that will benefit our mutual customers and partners toward achieving pervasive, highly-available, and bulletproof multi-channel communications at a reasonable price."

WebMux provides Microsoft′s unified communications customers with a robust, easy-to-implement, and affordable solution in meeting Office Communications Server′s requirement for hardware load balancing. WebMux′s functionality includes load balancing and failover of multiple servers, thereby ensuring high performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.

"The combination of Microsoft′s unified communications software and CAI′s WebMux provide a powerful new way for people to collaborate while taking the complexity out of communications," said Yancey Smith, group marketing manager, Unified Communications Group, at Microsoft Corp. "CAI′ WebMux is an easy-to-implement solution to meet Office Communications Server 2007 requirement for hardware load balancing at an affordable price."

WebMux&peime;s exclusive MAP capability ensures transactional integrity for Office Communications Server 2007 by enforcing connection persistence and TCP-level and port affinities, and context-sensitive health-checking of Office Communications Server 2007 protocols to determine server health. Should any required protocol on any port on any server fail, WebMux detects this and immediately diverts traffic to healthy servers via automatic failover. WebMux supports active and hot standby servers in high availability deployments, and can itself be deployed in a dual fault-tolerant configuration.

WebMux is an IPV6 compliant rack-mounted network appliance that operates at OSI layers 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7, thereby providing content-aware switching and intelligent traffic management at wire speed. WebMux incorporates port and server affinity via its exclusive MAP capability to ensure transactional integrity, and DoS and DDoS protection to prevent servers from being compromised by attacks.

Pricing and Availability

WebMux prices start at $3,995 and includes CAI Networks′ best-in-the-industry 3x3 guarantee, which bundles three-year warranty, upgrades, and technical support at no added cost, continuing WebMux′s tradition of offering the industry′s lowest total cost of ownership.
